A Typical Day

 

CAMPER GROUPS

Campers are divided into camp among groups: Division 1, Division 2, Basketball, Swim and Teen Camp. Each group of campers will have a slightly different schedule, tailored to their individual age groups and needs. Campers will participate in activities such as BMX biking, roller blading, skateboarding for teens & older kids in Division 2 as well as archery, sports, arts and crafts, dance, theater, yoga, cooking and much more. They will also engage in instructional and recreational swim.

DAILY SCHEDULE

The camp day officially begins at 8:30 am and ends at 4:15 pm.
Activities begin at 8:30 AM. Lunch and snack are served.

A DAY IN LIFE OF A SPECIALTY CAMPER

CAMPER GROUPS

Campers are divided into groups based on age and skill level.
Those enrolled in Sports Camp participate in 2 training sessions per day minimum.
Those enrolled in Swim Camp participate in 1 – 2 hour long swim sessions daily (depending on level).
Those enrolled in Soccer Camp participate in 3 hour soccer training per day.

DAILY SCHEDULE

The camp day officially begins at 8:30 am and ends at 4:15 pm. Long trip days may end as late as 7:00 pm
Activities begin at 8:30 AM. Throughout the day, lunch , and snack are also served.
Children enrolled in Basketball Camp work on key skills to improve dribbling, passing and shooting. Girls and boys work on individual and team skills, game warm-up and sports conditioning, which will enhance their performance in games.
Children enrolled in Swim Camp have pool sessions which emphasize stroke and skill development. The schedule will include individualized stroke drills, start, turns, strength and flexibility exercises.
Children enrolled in Soccer Camp work on key skills to improve and emphasize passing, shooting and teamwork.

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

**PLEASE NOTE ALL BUSES ARE AIR-CONDITIONED**

1.     Mondays are DRESS-UP DAYS, such as Costume Day, Crazy Hair Day, and Hawaii Luau Day. Children are encouraged to be as creative as possible with their costumes! These are also Fort Hamilton Army Base days!

2.     Tuesdays are Training Days as well as Fort Hamilton Army Base Days! The children will enjoy swimming, fencing, archery, a private 8-lane bowling alley and so much more!

3.    Wednesdays are SHOW DAYS. Children will be able to enjoy in-house shows such as a Magic Show, Live Animal Show and more! These are also Fort Hamilton Army Base days!

4.     Thursdays are LONG TRIP DAYS, to faraway and exciting places such as Six Flags, Basketball Hall of Fame, Jones Beach and Adventure Land. Some of these days are LATE PICK-UP. Look out for these days on our calendar!

5.     Fridays are THEMED BEACH DAYS, such as Pajama Day, Twin Day and Superhero Day. Children are encouraged to dress up on these days and all activities are based on the themes. Children are treated to a huge BBQ  party and fun on the beach, as well as themed activities and play in sprinklers, sand, and shade.

TYPICAL DAY OF TEEN CAMPER

Campers will participate in activities such as BMX Biking, Skateboarding, Archery, Sports, Arts and Crafts, Dance, Theater, Yoga , Cooking and much more. They will go on trips that will increase their exposure to new and exciting experiences. They will also engage in instructional and recreational swim one time a week and will swim at the beach every other Friday. They will get the opportunity of attending one on-campus sleepover and will go on on two overnight trips.

The camp day officially begins at 8:30 AM and ends at 4:15 PM. Long trip days may end as late as 7:00 PM (listed on the camp calendar).

Children will receive snack and are expected to bring their own lunches everyday.

Campers participate in instructional and recreational swim 1 time a week (2x a week when Friday is beach day).

Campers visit the outdoor facility in Bay Ridge once a week.
