Our SONYC After School Program is transitioning to fully remote learning. All other membership services are continuing their operations. Substitute Teacher

From our flagship base in southern Brooklyn, where we operate a successful full-service Jewish community center, to our more recent inroads in Brownstone Brooklyn and North Brooklyn under the JCC Brooklyn umbrella, the Kings Bay Y has remained true to its 60-year-old mission.

 

The Kings Bay YM-YWHA, Inc. is seeking Substitute Teachers to work at our locations on an as needed basis. Substitute teachers provides coverage in our classrooms in the absence of the assigned Teacher. The responsibilities of the Substitute Teacher in the classroom may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Planning lessons
Teaching students
Managing the classroom
Performing administrative tasks
Promoting positive student behavior
Ensuring the safety and security of the students
Substitute Teacher Requirements:
Must have at least an Associates Degree in Early Childhood.
Must be hold a NY State Teaching Certificate Birth-2nd.
Must be Fingerprinted by the Department of Investigation and Department of Education.
Must have previous classroom experience.
