Preschool Admin Assistant

Kings Bay Y/ JCC Brooklyn is a community space that connects, uplifts and inspires. It is a Jewish Community Center with and without walls. We welcome everyone from all religious, racial, and ethnic backgrounds as we provide a wide array of programs for children and families to explore Jewish culture, values, holidays, and Israel through music, storytelling, art, Hebrew, and food. We offer early childhood programs, summer day camps, after-school and other fun and engaging programs for families.

The Preschool Administrative Assistant facilitates the efficient operation of the assigned department by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ability to answer phone calls and schedule appointments for interviews and tours
  • Keep all documents files for children, staff, and state requirements
  • Create and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical
  • Perform other duties as needed by the school
  • Serve as secretary and provide administrative assistance to the Preschool Director, make, schedule, and arrange appointments and meetings.
  • Supervise classrooms in the event of short absences of teachers
  • Prepare communications, such as emails, reports, and other correspondence.


  • Childcare and/or Administrative experience is preferred
  • High school diploma
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently


Monday to Friday

8 hour shift


$16 – $18 per hour
