Counselor

Camp Counselors report directly to the Head Counselors for their assigned age group. Counselors are responsible for aiding in the supervision of all camp participants. Counselors will be responsible for assisting the head counselors in daily administration of the Summer Day Camp Program, including: ensuring the well-being and safety of all participants, administering games and activities, providing daily feedback to the Head Counselor, filling out paperwork and maintaining daily logs, and ensuring a fun and safe environment for the participants. We are looking for responsible, reliable, and mature applicants who have a passion for working with children, and are excited to bring a camp-wide energy and enthusiasm daily to the program.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Lead campers through hands-on activities, presentations, field trips, and experiments.
  • Ensure that campers at all times are supervised and maintain a safe and enjoyable camp environment.
  • Be observant and mindful that you are responsible for the daily well-being of your campers.
  • Keep track of supplies for camp and convey to the Head Counselors any needs the group has.
  • Perform head counts of participants throughout the day.
  • Ensure participants are safe (properly hydrated, playing areas are free of hazards, etc.).
  • Follow all protocols found in the camp standard operating procedures.
  • Complete assigned duties for daily set-up and clean-up of the activity
  • Carrying/keeping track of activity supplies throughout campus as well off-site.
  • Attend to campers with patience and enthusiasm
  • Other duties as assigned

Required:

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Complete all training modules – (In-person/Remote as scheduled)
  • Work at least 8 of the 9 weeks of camp
  • Be present and on-site every scheduled shift
  • Follow camp dress-code during work shifts
  • Attend camp meetings as scheduled

Summer salary: Seasonal Contract based on experience

 

Hours:

  • Hired mid-Spring
  • Spring: Attend staff training and complete online training as scheduled
  • Summer: 8:15AM – 4:30PM (General Hours) for  8-9 weeks/ June 28, 2022 to Aug 26, 2022

Note: Transportation, Early Stay, Late Stay counselor add-on opportunities available.
