CHAVAYA AFTER SCHOOL for the HEBREW LANGUAGE ACADEMY
We are proud of the care and
attention provided to our children by our dedicated staff of educators
and counselors, who care for the children, supervise their play, oversee
their meals, help with Hebrew and general homework, and reinforce the
learning that the children have at school. All of this is made possible
to the children who attend the Chavaya program at Kings Bay YM &
YWHA by a generous grant from the National Center for Hebrew Language
Charter School Excellence and Development, a project of the Areivim
Philanthropic Group, Inc.
The
mission of Chavaya is to build a foundation of Jewish experience for
children who attend a Hebrew charter school. Chavaya strives to provide
our children with an ever growing appreciation and understanding of
Jewish values, rituals, traditions and culture. Its purpose is to
engage children in experiential Jewish learning and activities that
infuse their lives with meaning and joy. Chavaya is run on premises
independent of any Hebrew language charter school and completely
separately from any Hebrew language charter school.

BROOKLYN, NY - HOLON, ISRAEL - MUNICH, GERMANY YOUNG PARENTS PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM - MISHPACHA
With a generous grant from UJA Federation of New York, the Kings Bay YM-YWHA is thrilled to be able to run joint programs focusing on engaging young Jewish families into Jewish life, exposing them to Israel and the global Jewish community. Our partner agency, the Neve Arazim Community Center in Holon, Israel works with our program coordinator on building common programming and practical connections between young Jewish families in Holon and the Kings Bay Y. This year, we are thrilled to start exploring an exclusive partnership program involving our friends in Holon, and our new friends in the Munich Jewish Community Center in Germany.
About the project at the Kings Bay Y:
Engage with other young Jewish parents in Holon, Israel and Munich, Germany in our exclusive program. Build lasting relationships between three communities and learn how to bring Jewish identity into your homes.
