The after school advancement programs for children ages 5 to 13 years old runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Activities include advanced homework assistance, test prep, swimming twice a week, computers, art, science, and several special events. Free transportation from:

RISING STARS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Free transportation from: and several private schools. A snack is distributed daily and extended hours available. HRA/ACD vouchers are accepted. |

CHAVAYA AFTER SCHOOL for the HEBREW LANGUAGE ACADEMY
Chavaya and Omek After School for HLA students Kings Bay Y is proud to be the home of Chavaya, a unique After School Program for children who attend our local Hebrew Language Academy. During the current year, Chavaya provides a program of after school enrichment activities from 4 to 7 PM from Mondays through Fridays throughout the school year. In addition to homework assistance our tri lingual staff provides to the children in all the subjects of the curriculum, including Hebrew language, reading, writing and math, we are devoted to insuring that each of our children receives a rich Jewish experience in the traditions and culture of the Jewish people. Our afternoons together with our children also provide them with opportunities to swim, play outdoors (weather permitting), romp in our gymnasium, have fun group experiences and share nutritious Kosher meals.
The mission of Chavaya is to build a foundation of Jewish experience for children who attend a Hebrew charter school. Chavaya strives to provide our children with an ever growing appreciation and understanding of Jewish values, rituals, traditions and culture. Its purpose is to engage children in experiential Jewish learning and activities that infuse their lives with meaning and joy. Chavaya is run on premises independent of any Hebrew language charter school and completely separately from any Hebrew language charter school.
We are proud of the care and attention provided to our children by our dedicated staff of educators and counselors, who care for the children, supervise their play, oversee their meals, help with Hebrew and general homework, and reinforce the learning that the children have at school.
All of this is made possible to the children who attend the Chavaya program at Kings Bay YM & YWHA by a generous grant from the National Center for Hebrew Language Charter School Excellence and Development, a project of the Areivim Philanthropic Group, Inc.
