Help us to provide relief to our clients and rebuild our programs as we find ourselves in the midst of this disaster. Our brand-new Emmons Avenue site was flooded with 7 feet of water that caused severe damage and left us unable to serve our adult clients, as well as homebound seniors and other members of the community seeking assistance. We’re doing our best to meet everyone’s needs but we urgently need your help to recover.
The Y has been instrumental in helping seniors in the Far Rockaways, who suffered greatly during the hurricane. While the power is restored to these high-rises, we will be continuing to monitor these seniors by asking our volunteers to help; to acclimate them to this new post-hurricane reality and to have recreational and social day care opportunities. Please donate to our special Far Rockaway Fund that will be dedicated entirely to this population. 100% of your donations will be used to serve the seniors there, with no administrative expenses.
